Two months ago the Bowen-Thompson Student Union embarked on a new business venture. An ambitious new dry cleaning service was started to give students an alternative to independent businesses based locally. The service is managed by City Dry Cleaning, an independent business based out of Findlay, Ohio.

Since August, Pitney, 76, has camped out by the West Campus Plaza archway armed with stacks of voter registration sheets, sitting in his fold-up chair at his fold-up table for hours a day, every day.

For University of Maryland mechanical engineering professor Jaydev Desai, breast cancer awareness is more than a month-long endeavor. Though October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Desai has spent the past year and a half developing a robot that can perform biopsies and destroy tumor cells all in one session, making the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer less time-consuming and more accurate than ever before.
