Sean Martin's column didn't have any facts...

EDITOR'S NOTE
This is the first of two letters to the editor analyzing Sean Martin's article "Barack's backers are the lowest of low," from March 26.
...and only plunged itself into mudslinging
I am writing in regards to the column titled "Barack's backers are the lowest of low" [March 26]. This column is nothing more that an anti-communist/Obama rant.
Though my opinions of Obama greatly differ from Sean Martin's, that is not my problem. I have a problem with columnists who do nothing more than rant about topics they know nothing about.
As a former columnist for my high school paper, I was taught to back up my opinions with facts and or quotes. I can tell you this column would not even have made it into my high school paper - and this is college, folks.
I didn't realize The BG News printed rants and raves about ideas that are not backed up by support within the column. This column would have been more effective had Sean used solid sources rather than vague, possibly unreliable ones.
The end result is a column that is nothing more than dribble which in the end will have no effect upon anyone. This column has changed my opinions - not about Barack Obama but in Sean Martin's writing ability.
